Matt Michalec, Asst. AD/Communications
In an effort to keep up with the high demand for handicap accessible parking on game day, available parking for handicapped patrons has been increased to exceed the university’s current available spots to accommodate supply and demand. The goal of the Athletics Event Parking Plan is to provide a comprehensive program of high quality transportation and parking services in a dynamic University setting. The department has assessed the University’s parking program for special events and has recommended implementing best practices, safety procedures, and clear and effective communication techniques to enhance the current parking plan to assist with handicap accessible parking.
• Handicap accessible parking is designated in lots 9 and 12, for the general public. Patrons must have a prepaid parking pass to access gate 8 entrance. Passes can be purchased at the box office, to enter through gate 8 to park in the designated handicapped accessible lots.
• Handicap accessible parking is also designated in lot 14 (50 spaces allocated) for handicap parking for the general public. This is in addition to the dedicated handicap accessible parking spaces already marked in the parking lot. Access to lot 14 is off Corprew Avenue.
• Handicap accessible parking is designated in lot 6 for NSUAF members with handicap placards on Presidential Parkway. To join NSUAF please go to www.nsuspartans.com.
• In addition to lots designated for handicap accessible parking there are also dedicated spaces available in each lot on Presidential Parkway for NSUAF members and Corprew Avenue for public parking.
• The gate on Gym Road will be utilized to allow a direct line from public parking to the stadium for handicap accessible entrance directly into the stadium for ticket holders only. Patrons have several options to purchase tickets prior to game day. (New)
• Harbor Park shuttle services are offered from Lot D to the stadium gates on the Gill Gym entrance. Also, once the game has ended – these shuttle services will continue to run from campus to Harbor Park’s Lot D to take those individuals back to their vehicles.
• Shuttle service routes are provided to assist with patrons who need assistance to the stadium gates from Presidential Parkway, Lot 14 and Corprew Avenue. The shuttle service routes begin two hours before the game and continue two hours after the game.
• Patrons must have a prepaid parking pass. Passes can be purchased at the box office, to enter through gate 8 to park in any of the designated handicapped spaces available for public parking.
