Andrew Hauser is in his second year as an assistant coach on the NSU football coaching staff. Hauser, who worked with the outside linebackers last season, coaches the safeties.
Hauser came to NSU from the University of Akron, where he was a standout player and coach. Hauser was a four-year letterwinner for the Zips, playing in 45 games during his career from 2014-17. He started 20 games, including all 14 in his senior season.
As a senior, Hauser amassed 53 tackles, 2.5 for loss, with an interception, a forced fumble and blocked PAT that season. He was a nominee for the 2017 Burlsworth Trophy, given annually to the top FBS football player who started his career as a walk-on.
Hauser remained at Akron in 2018, serving as a defensive graduate assistant for the Zips.
A native of Mason, Ohio, Hauser earned his bachelor’s degree in sports management from Akron in 2017.
