Former Spartan standout Hasan Craig is in his second season working with the NSU coaching staff. He will coach the outside linebackers.
It is a position Craig is quite familiar with, having played the same position himself with the Spartans from 2007-11. Craig recovered from two knee injuries early in his career to serve as a starter and defensive captain on the 2011 team that captured the school’s first-ever MEAC title.
Craig had his best season as a redshirt senior in 2011, registering 38 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, five sacks and two forced fumbles. Craig was named the winner of NSU’s Vince Lombardi Award for performance and leadership following his senior year.
For his college career, Craig played in 47 games and made 103 tackles, including 26.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks and four forced fumbles.
A native of Rocky Mount, Va., Craig earned his bachelor’s degree in electronics technology from NSU in 2013.
