2009 (Junior)
Started every game for the second straight year…had two interceptions on the year, both coming in the win over Bethune-Cookman…credited with 28 tackles for the year, 19 of them solo…had a season-high six tackles, half for a loss, against nationally-ranked William & Mary…made four tackles and broke up two passes in the loss to South Carolina State…had five stops in the win at DSU.
2008 (Sophomore)
Started all 12 games at cornerback…tied for second on the team with six pass deflections…broke up one pass in six separate games…made 25 tackles on the season, 22 of them solo…intercepted one pass and forced one fumble…registered a season-high six tackles at South Carolina State…made his first career interception in that game, snagging a pass in the end zone to kill one Bulldogs’ drive…had four tackles, one sack and a forced fumble against Florida A&M.
2007 (Freshman)
Played in all 11 contests…Short started four games at defensive back, playing some corner and strong safety, and was also a key special teams player…registered 30 tackles, 12 solo and one for a loss…deflected four passes…made a season-high seven tackles and broke up two passes against Virginia State…had five tackles and one pass deflection against Bethune-Cookman…made two tackles, one for a loss, versus Hampton.
2006 (Redshirt)
Sat out the season as a non-qualifier.
High School
Lettered three years on the football team…played receiver and defensive back…had five interceptions and 96 tackles his senior season, when he was an honorable mention All-Beach District selection…voted the school’s best all-around athlete…qualified for the Eastern Region track meet in the 200 meters and for the state Group AAA meet as part of the Ocean Lakes 400-meter relay team…was also the starting point guard for the Dolphins’ district tournament championship basketball team.
