Spent the 2019 fall semester playing for the prep team at Fork Union … Was a four-year letterwinner at Seventy-First High in Fayetteville … Was first-team all-conference as a senior, when he accounted for 30 touchdowns (18 passing, 12 rushing) … Passed for 1,977 yards and rushed for another 999 … Played in the North Carolina East/West Senior All-Star Game … Accounted for 1,778 passing yards and 599 rushing yards as a junior, when he passed for 19 scores and ran for seven more … Was first-team all-conference punter that year as well … Passed for 1,716 yards and rushed for 451 as a sophomore, earning honorable mention all-conference accolades.
