2014 (Junior)
One of NSU’s most versatile linemen, Phillips started all 12 games for the second straight season ... started nine times at right guard and three at right tackle … started the first five games of the year at right guard … moved to right tackle for the Savannah State and Delaware State games … moved back to right guard for the next four games before ending the season at right tackle against S.C. State … for the second straight year, Phillips landed on the NSU AD Honor Roll for both semesters and was named to the MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team. 

2013 (Sophomore)
Started all 12 games at center … graded out at 80 percent in the win at Bethune-Cookman … earned a spot on the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for the fall 2013 and spring 2014 semesters and named to the 2013-14 MEAC Commissioner’s All-Academic Team.

2012 (Freshman)
Saw action in 10 games in his rookie season … started five games at offensive guard … made his first career start at left guard in the win over Liberty … started the final four games of the season at right guard … did not play against Howard … named to the NSU Athletics Director’s Honor Roll for the fall 2012 semester.

High School
A four-year letterwinner at Bayside … first-team All-Tidewater, All-Eastern Region and All-Beach District pick as a senior … was also a first-team All-Tidewater and all-district selection and was voted to the all-state second team as a junior … helped Bayside win the district and regional titles his junior year en route to a state playoff berth … selected NSU over an appointment from the U.S. Naval Academy … coached by former NSU football coach Darnell Moore at Bayside.

Michael Anthony Phillips was born on Jan. 11, 1994 … son of Michael Phillips I and Valerie Phillips … majoring in computer information technology.
