Reggie Samuel enters his first season at Norfolk State as the Director of Football Strategy and Program Development, bringing a unique combination of coaching experience, executive leadership, and organizational strategy to the Spartans program.
Working directly with Head Coach Michael Vick, Samuel helps shape and execute the strategic direction of Norfolk State Football. His responsibilities span program strategy, roster and personnel planning, organizational design, staff alignment, resource allocation, and program development, helping translate the head coach’s vision into daily execution.
Samuel began his football coaching career in 2015 and his experience coaching on both sides of the football, combined with his background in football operations, change management, strategic planning, and personnel provides a unique foundation to help shape a comprehensive approach to program building.
A Virginia Tech Football Letterman, Samuel started five games at wide receiver as a freshman before moving to free safety, then suffered a career-ending knee injury. Although his playing career was cut short, his love for the game never faded and his experience under legendary head coach Frank Beamer continues to shape his approach to leadership, culture, and program development.
