Emily Danner will begin her first season as an assistant coach with the Norfolk State volleyball program in 2018. A graduate of Ferrum College, she coached at the local level the last several years before joining the Spartans.

She most recently spent time as an assistant varsity coach with Green Run High School during the 2016 and ’17 seasons. In 2018, she coached the U-15 Outbreak Volleyball club team. Danner is set to coach the U-17 team in 2019.

A Virginia Beach native, she competed for three seasons at Ferrum. A team captain her senior year, Danner averaged 3.49 assists and 1.26 digs while leading the Panthers to nine-win increase. She tallied 5.79 assists and 1.59 digs as a junior as well as 7.20 assists and 1.51 digs her sophomore year.

While there, Danner also was named to the USA South Academic All-Conference Team. She began playing volleyball in seventh grade before going on to compete at Green Run HS.

Danner graduated from Ferrum in May 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science.
