Appeared in 10 games and started twice (Elizabeth City State, Va. Lynchburg) … Ran 49 times for 228 yards and three touchdowns … Also caught 11 passes for 96 yards and returned 12 kickoffs for 230 yards … Had a 52-yard run at Toledo, and a season-high 56 rushing yards total in that game … Rushed seven times for 15 yards and one TD against ECSU … Also scored rushing touchdowns against Va. Lynchburg and Howard … Ran eight times for 42 yards at N.C. Central … Caught three passes against ECSU and two each against Wake Forest, VUL and NCCU.

Joined the team as a walk-on prior to the season … Quickly developed into an impact player, seeing action in 11 games and starting five times as a rookie … Earned third-team All-MEAC honors … Was also voted the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) State Rookie of the Year … Led NSU in rushing (468 yards), all-purpose yards (959) and touchdowns (11) … A three-time MEAC Rookie of the Week selection … Also named to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List for the nation’s top FCS freshman during the year … The 11 touchdowns are the most by a Spartan since Chris Bell’s 13 in 2009 … Had eight rushing touchdowns and three receiving scores … Tied for third in the MEAC in touchdowns, tied for fourth in scoring, seventh in kick return average (18.2) and eighth in all-purpose yards (87.2 ypg) … Saw his first extended action against Virginia State, rushing seven times for 44 yards and catching two passes for 38 yards including a 33-yard TD … Earned MEAC Rookie of the Week honors for that performance … Scored two touchdowns against No. 8 Montana State, including a school-record-long 84-yard TD run … Also caught an 8-yard TD pass in that game as he finished with 167 all-purpose yards … Rushed eight times for a season-high 112 yards in the outing … Rushed seven times for 53 yards and a pair of scores against Florida A&M … Also scored a rushing TD in the win at Howard … Scored two more touchdowns at Bethune-Cookman, one rushing and one receiving … Ran a season-high 18 times for 97 yards, including a 4-yard TD … Also caught a season-high four passes for 81 yards and a 46-yard TD vs. BCU to pick up another MEAC Rookie of the Week Award … Ran 13 times for 47 yards and a touchdown vs. Morgan State … Added 12 carries for 38 yards and another score the following week at N.C.
