Norfolk State University head men's basketball coach
Dwight Freeman announced Saturday that a temporary medical condition will prevent him from traveling for the next few weeks. Assistant coach Rodney Martin will serve as head coach on the road until Freeman’s doctor clears him to travel.
“With our encouraging start, I am disappointed that I will not be on the bench for the next few road games,” Freeman said. “But I have the utmost confidence in coach Martin’s ability to lead the team, and our players' ability to continue the improvement they've shown on the court the past several games.”
Freeman will still work periodically in his campus office, will continue to supervise practices and will be on the bench for home games.
