NORFOLK, Va. — The Norfolk State bowling team will participate this weekend in the 2006 MEAC Bowling Championships at AMF Military Lanes in Norfolk.

Team games begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday and resume at noon on Saturday. Admission is free.

The Spartans finished 11th iin last year's championship but have shown solid improvement this season. All five of NSU's wins this season have coming in its last three competitions.

Bethune-Cookman is the defending champion and finished fourth at last spring's NCAA Bowling Championships. North Carolina A&T has won four of the last six MEAC titles.
