Spartans Celebrate Homecoming, Host FAMU

NSU Looks to Break 4-Game Slide

Game Notes

NORFOLK, Va.
- After dropping its fourth straight game last week, all on the road, the NSU football team (2-5, 1-3 MEAC) returns home this Saturday to host Florida A&M for the Spartans' 2008 homecoming contest. Kickoff is at 1 p.m. at Dick Price Stadium.

NSU fell 35-17 at No. 25 Hampton last Saturday. The Spartans rallied from a 21-0 deficit to get within a touchdown in the third quarter, but the Pirates pulled away to prevent NSU from winning its second straight in the series.

FAMU improved to 5-2 overall and capped a perfect 4-0 non-conference slate with a wild 52-49 win over Southern last Saturday in Baton Rouge, La. The Rattlers have also defeated Tennessee State, Alabama State and Winston-Salem State in non-conference games. FAMU is 1-2 within the MEAC with a win over Howard and a pair of seven-point losses to South Carolina State and Delaware State.
