NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State University guard Tony Murphy (Paterson, N.J.) to the MEAC All-Tournament team, the league announced at the conclusion of the tournament.
Murphy, a first-team All-MEAC selection averaged 24.5 points in NSU's two games. He scored 29 points on 7-of-13 shooting from the floor in the quarterfinal win over Florida A&M on Thursday. He was 12-of-12 from the free throw line in that game.
In his last collegiate game, Murphy was 7-of-16 from the floor, 6-of-12 from 3-point range, en route to a 20-point night against Coppin State in the semifinal loss. He ends his career No. 7 on the all-time NSU scoring list with 1,815 points and first with 262 made 3-point field goals.
Murphy was joined on the all-tournament team by Roy Bright of Delaware State, Marquise Kately and Boubacar Coly of Morgan State, and tournament MVP Tywain McKee of Coppin State.
