DURHAM, N.C.
– The NSU men's tennis team edged out North Carolina Central, 4-3, in non-conference action on Saturday.

NSU won two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, then split the six singles matches to take the one-point win. Miroslav Vlcek (Vyskov, Czech Republic) and Petr Krakora (Brno, Czech Republic) took an easy win at No. 1 doubles, but after the Eagles won at No. 2, the doubles point came down to No. 3 doubles. NSU's pair of Arsenio Culver (Philadelphia, Pa.) and Jonathan Sessom (Houston, Texas) took a 9-7 win over Stephen Allsop and Andres Perez.

In singles action, Vlcek (No. 1), Culver (No. 2) and Jahvair Mullings (Kingston, Jamaica) (No. 6) tallied straight-set wins to help the Spartans clinch the victory.

The Spartans return to the court this Saturday, facing Florida A&M and Southern in Tallahassee, Fla.
