KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Norfolk State men's track team had two 100-meter runners and two 110-meter hurdlers run season-best times in the Spartans' first day of competition Friday at the Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee.

Senior Trayman Hill (Greensville County, Va.) ran a season-best 10.69 seconds in the 100 meters, while freshman Quinten Walker (Hampton, Va.)) ran a personal-best time of 10.73. Both finished in the top 25 at the Relays, one of the largest and most prestigious national track events of the outdoor college season.

Freshman Keith Nkrumah (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and junior Meredith Whitties (Petersburg, Va.) also ran PRs in the 110 hurdles. Nkrumah ran a 14.62 to place 13th, and Whitties was 23rd in 14.96.

Many of Friday's events were postponed due to storms that moved through Tennessee. The Spartans resume competition Saturday with a full slate of track and field events.
