NORFOLK, Va. — Junior shortstop Jamie Raab (Houston, Tex.) was named the MEAC Softball Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
Raab hit .636 for the week and led the Spartans to three conference wins over South Carolina State. She hit .500 or better in all three games and finished 7-of-11 in the home stand with three runs and two RBI.
Raab tallied five assists, five putouts and was perfect in stolen base attempts with three. In the first game against the Lady Bulldogs she hit .750 (3-for-4) and recorded two RBI, one stolen base, two putouts and two assists.
NSU (15-20) takes a break from conference action to play a doubleheader at the University of Virginia (24-14) at 5 p.m. on Tuesday.
