Final Results
WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Thomas Speller (Chesapeake, Va.) capped his solid weekend by placing second in the 100 meters on Saturday at the Colonial Relays, hosted by William & Mary at Zable Stadium.
Speller (10.72) bettered his season-best time from the prelims by .01 of a second. He placed second behind Mt. St. Mary's Chad Brown (10.62).
Speller also contributed by running a leg on the Spartans' third-place 4x200 relay team (1:27.84). Corey Vinston (Hampton, Va.), Marlon Woods (Norfolk, Va.) and Quinten Walker (Hampton, Va.) were the other members of that relay squad.
NSU's other relay teams also fared well on Saturday. The 4x100 relay team of Darris Shelton (Hampton, Va.), Woods, Walker and Trayman Hill (Greensville County, Va.) finished second in 41.55 seconds. The 4x110 shuttle hurdle relay of Travis Wilson (Norfolk, Va.), Woods, Keith Nkrumah (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Meredith Whitties (Petersburg, Va.) ran a time of 1:00.97 to place second.
NSU ended with meet in fifth place among the men's teams, with 49 points. The Spartans will participate in two meets next weekend, the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., on Friday and Saturday, and the Hampton Invitational next Saturday.
