NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State men's basketball team opens its 2010-11 season on Friday when when the Spartans travel to Brooklyn, N.Y., to face Long Island University. Tip off is at 7 p.m. at the Wellness, Recreation and Athletic Center.

The Spartans are coming off a 72-63 exhibition game win over Virginia State on Sunday.

NSU returns four starters and eight letterwinners from its 2009-10 campaign. The Spartans, who were picked to finish sixth in the preseason MEAC poll, went 11-19, 9-7 in the conference last season.
