NSU Men Return Home to Face Iona

Game Notes

NORFOLK, Va. - The NSU men's basketball team (1-4) returns to Echols Hall trying to break a three-game losing streak Tuesday as the Spartans play host to Iona College. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.

The Spartans' last win was a 70-53 victory over Jacksonville State in their home opener on Nov. 16. Since then, NSU dropped all three of its games in the Philly Hoop Group Classic, culminating in a 91-56 defeat against Fairfield last Friday at the Palestra in Philadelphia.

The Gaels (2-3) dropped their first three games of the year, only to win their last two. Their last time out, Iona hit 18 3-pointers to defeat Albany 86-65 on Nov. 23.

ABOUT THE SERIES
NSU and Iona met for the first time last year, with Iona taking an 80-68 decision on Nov. 21 in New Rochelle, N.Y. Scott Machado scored 20 points that night to lead the Gaels, while Rob Hampton and Michael Deloach had 15 points apiece to pace the Spartans.
