WILLIAMSBURG, Va.
– Junior Thomas Speller (Chesapeake, Va.) won the 200-meter dash and Raphael Hall (Chesapeake, Va.) won the high jump as the Spartans made a strong showing at the Colonial Relays hosted by William & Mary last weekend.

Speller cruised to the win in the 200 in a time of 21.17 seconds, fastest in the MEAC this season. Hall cleared a top height of 2.09 meters to take the high jump title. Both marks represent season bests for Speller and Hall.

In other events, junior Tyrell Moon (Philadelphia, Pa.) took fourth place in the 400 meters (48.36 seconds). First-year sophomore Frede Spellman (Chesapeake, Va.) finished sixth in the shot put (14.98 meters) and freshman John James (Suffolk, Va.) also earned a sixth-place finish, clearing a season-best 1.99 meters in the high jump.

Both men's relay teams also took home top-five finishes, as the 4x200 team was third (1:26.95) and the 4x400 team was fifth (3:13.95).

The Spartans are back in action this weekend at the Sea Ray Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee.
