RALEIGH, N.C.
- Norfolk State long jumpers Rashad Cannon and Darris Shelton have formed a solid 1-2 punch in that event all year long for the Spartans. Last weekend was no different, as Cannon and Shelton swept the top two places, respectively, in their strongest event at the Raleigh Relays.

Cannon won the event with his final jump of 24 feet, 7 inches. Shelton also saved his best for his final attempt, notching a leap of 24-6.5.

Sean Holston and Keith Nkrumah also enjoyed solid performances all weekend, as both notched top-five finishes in an individual event and in a pair of relays. Holston turned in his fastest outdoor 400-meter time as a Spartan, clocking a 46.63 on Friday to finish third. Nkrumah just missed his PR in the 400 hurdles (52.91), which placed him in a tie for fourth. Holston and Nkrumah also ran legs on NSU's third-place 4x100 relay (41.13 seconds) and 4x400 relay (3:12.87) teams.

Also earning top-10 finishes were John James in the high jump (6-6.75), Philemon Kimutai in section II of the 5,000 meters; Vincent Brown in section II of the 1,500m (4:01.31), Aramis Massenburg (14.16) and Nkrumah (14.38) in the 110 hurdles, and the sprint medley relay team (3:27.35).

The Spartans are back in action next Friday and Saturday at the Florida Relays in Gainesville, Fla.
