VaSID All-State Team
NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State junior center Kyle O'Quinn was named to the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) all-state second team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
O'Quinn had a breakout year in 2010-11. The 6-10 post player ended the season ranked fourth in the nation in blocked shots (3.4), fifth in rebounding (11.1) and eight in double-doubles (19). He also led the Spartans and ranked fifth in the conference in scoring, at 16.4 points per game, and was second in the MEAC with a 55.6 field goal percentage.
The all-state award caps off a season in which O'Quinn was also a first-team All-MEAC and NABC All-District 15 selection and was voted MEAC Defensive Player of the Year.
