NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State senior Josef Tessema was named the MEAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row, the league announced Wednesday.
Tessema won the individual title at the Lou Onesty Invitational last Friday in Earlysville, Va. He finished the 8,000-meter course in 25 minutes, 0.7 seconds to help the Spartans finish third at the meet, which was hosted by the University of Virginia.
One week prior, Tessema earned the MEAC weekly award after breaking the course record with a time of 24:59.12 at the UMES Lid-Lifter.
The Spartans are back in action this Saturday at UMES' Cappy Anderson Invitational
