NORFOLK, Va. – Andre McKoy went 4-for-5 with four runs batted in to lead North Carolina A&T to an 18-1 win over Norfolk State in an elimination game of the MEAC Baseball Tournament on Friday afternoon at Marty L. Miller Field.

The Spartans' season ends at 22-28. The Aggies (20-35) advance to another elimination game Saturday afternoon against the winner of Friday night's game between Delaware State and North Carolina Central.

Like their loss to Bethune-Cookman earlier Friday, the Spartans fell victim to big innings from their opponent. North Carolina A&T broke a scoreless tied by plating five runs in the top of the second. McKoy led off with a single and scored on Stefan Jordan's RBI double down the left-field line. Jordan later scored on Michael Radford's sacrifice fly. NSU starter Justin Bhatti then issued walks to Carvell Copeland and Marquis Riley. Kelvin Freeman followed with a two-run single with the bases loaded, and Riley scored on an overthrow at the end of the hit to make it 5-0.

McKoy helped manufacture another run in the third. He singled, moved to second on a wild pitch and stole third. Brandon Wilkerson then knocked in McKoy with a sacrifice fly.

McKoy's two-out, two run single in the fourth extended the Aggies' lead to 8-0. A five-run fifth all but ended it as McKoy and Tendler each hit two-run singles and Wilkerson contributed an RBI double. The Aggies tacked on three more in the sixth and two in the seventh to finish their scoring outburst.

The Spartans got their only run in the bottom of the seventh. Tyon Ore, Chase Kyriacou and Rafael Colon led off with three straight singles to load the bases. Chris Horne then hit into a double play to score Ore with NSU's only tally of the contest.

Bhatti (4-7) took the loss after allowing eight hits and nine runs, eight of them earned, in four-plus innings. Brent Moore (5-6) got the win with four scoreless innings for the Aggies.

Wilkerson, Radford, Freeman and Jordan had two hits apiece for A&T. Freeman and Tendler added three RBI apiece, and Marquis Riley scored four runs.

Horne, Ore, Kyriacou, Colon and Cameron Day had the Spartans' five hits. Day's hit was a double.
