NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State senior offensive lineman Jairus Spain has accepted an invitation to play in the 2013 Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Senior Scout Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 21 at Doug Shaw Stadium in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The event, now in its fourth year, gives players representing the FCS' 124 teams a chance to play and practice in front of pro scouts. All-America kicker Ryan Estep played in the event in 2011.

Spain played in 12 games and started twice at right tackle this past fall as a senior. The Chesapeake, Va. product played in all 23 games with a total of eight starts over the last two seasons. He joins fellow senior offensive lineman Cameron Williams as Spartans slated to play in this year's FCS Senior Scout Bowl.
