NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team will take on Liberty and William & Mary beginning on Saturday.
NSU (3-3, 1-0) went 2-0 last weekend against Christopher Newport and fellow MEAC opponent, S.C. State. The Spartans defeated CNU, 6-1, at the Centre Racquet Club in Newport News, Va., on Feb. 8. NSU also earned a 4-3 victory over S.C. State on Feb. 9 at the Folkes-Stevens Indoor Tennis Center in Norfolk, Va. This was S.C. State's first regular season conference loss since March 27, 2010, when the Bulldogs lost to FAMU.
Liberty (2-0) is coming off a 7-0 win over Bridgewater on Feb. 8 in Lynchburg, Va., at the Sports Racket.
William & Mary (2-2) is looking to snap a two-match losing streak. The Tribe suffered a 4-3 loss to No. 62-ranked North Florida on Feb. 1 and then on Feb. 3, William & Mary fell to No.34-ranked Northwestern, 7-0.
The match against Liberty will take place at the Virginia Beach Tennis and Country Club in Virginia Beach, Va., with matches set to begin at 2 p.m. NSU will travel to Williamsburg, Va., on Sunday to take on William & Mary at the Millie West Tennis Facility. Play is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
