NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State women's basketball team travels to Baltimore, Md., on Saturday to take on Morgan State. Tip-of is at 2 p.m. at Talmadge Hill Field House.

All-Time Series: NSU leads the series with Morgan State, 17-13. The Spartans defeated the Lady Bears at Joseph Echols Hall earlier this season, 61-52.
Last Time Out: Savannah State claimed a 79-47 victory over NSU on Jan.27 at Tiger Arena in Savannah, Ga. The loss marked NSU's first loss on the road in MEAC play this season.
NSU (9-10, 5-3) shot only 25.0 percent (12-of-48) from the field overall and was 74.2 percent (23-of-31) from the free throw line. Freshman Dominique Harper was the only Spartan to score in double-figures, leading NSU with a season-high 15 points. Junior Rae Corbo had only eight points, ending her double-figure scoring streak at six games. Senior Rachel Gordon finished with six points and five rebounds to end her double-double streak at five games.
The Lady Tigers outscored NSU in the paint 30-16 and outrebounded NSU 45-28.
Ezinne Kalu led the Lady Tigers with 24 points. Also scoring in double figures for Savannah State were Kenyatta Hendrix and Bria Dorsey, who scored 11 points and 10 points, respectively. The Lady Tigers shot 44.8 percent (26-of-58) from the field and 75.9 percent (22-of-29) from the free throw line.
About Morgan State: Morgan State (2-19, 0-8) suffered a 90-46 loss to Hampton on Monday at Talmadge Hill Field House in Baltimore, Md. Tracey Carrington led the Lady Bears with 13 points. Ivy Harrington also scored in double figures for Morgan State, closing out the night with 10 points.
Morgan State was held to only 29.8 percent (14-of-47) shooting from the field on the night. The Lady Bears also finished the game shooting 64.0 percent (16-of-25) from the free throw line.
On the season, the Lady Bears are averaging 55.9 points and 35.1 rebounds per game. Carrington leads the team in scoring, averaging 21.3 points per game. Harrington is second in scoring, averaging only 7.2 points per game..
Last Time Against Morgan State: Rae Corbo tallied 16 points, including 10-of-12 shooting from the free throw line, to help NSU claim a 61-52 victory over Morgan State at Joseph Echols Hall on Jan. 18. It marked the Spartans' third straight win and fourth straight conference win.
The win gave NSU its best start in MEAC play since the 2001-2002 season when the Spartans also started 4-1 in conference play.
The score was tied at 47 with 3:11 to play in the second half, but the Spartans used a 14-5 run, which included 10 points from the free throw line, to overtake the Lady Bears in the final minutes of the game. NSU shot a season high 78.6 percent (33-of-42) from the line on the afternoon. Rachel Gordon made 12 and Corbo had 10.
Gordon's 14 points and 16 rebounds in the game helped her earn her third consecutive double-double. Logan Powell also scored in double figures with 10 points and seven rebounds.
NSU only shot 25.5 percent (13-of-51) from the field for the game and was only 2-of-7 from 3-point range. Kieera Basey and Ebony Brown also contributed to the Spartans' scoring effort. Basey tied her career-high of eight points. She also had a team-high three assists. Brown had nine points, and shot 3-of-4 from the free throw line.
The Spartans outrebounded Morgan State 48-38 and held the Lady Bears to 27.4 percent (17-of-62) shooting on the afternoon. Tracey Carrington led Morgan State in scoring with 22 points. Danielle Robinson also finished with double figures for the Lady Bears with 12 points. She also grabbed six rebounds.
Scoring Leaders: Rae Corbo leads NSU in scoring, averaging 13.6 points per game followed by Rachel Gordon, who is averaging 11.6 points per game. Ebony Brown rounds out the top-three scoring leaders for NSU, averaging 9.2 points per game.
Moving Up the Charts: Rachel Gordon is in fourth place all-time in career rebounding at NSU with 950 rebounds. She needs 51 more boards to pass Sharon Wallace for first place, which means she needs to average 6.4 boards over the next eight regular season games.
Rae Corbo ranks eighth all-time in career free throws made at NSU with 259. Corbo needs to make 36 more to break into the top five.
Corbo is also in 11th place all-time in 3-point field goals made at NSU with 57. She needs only one more to move into the top 10. Teammate Ebony Brown is in 12th place in 3-point field goals made with 55. She needs three more to move into the top 10.
NCAA, MEAC Leaderboard: Rachel Gordon currently ranks No. 8 in the nation in rebounds per game and Rae Corbo is No. 58 in free throw percentage.
Gordon ranked 17th in career rebounding among active players through Feb. 2. She also ranks 12th in career rebounding average at 9.6.
As a team, NSU currently ranks in the top 5 in 13 different categories in the MEAC, while NSU players rank in the top 5 in five different categories, including Rachel Gordon, who leads the league in rebounds, averaging 12.2 rebounds per game.
