NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team returns to action on Wednesday to face Chowan.
NSU (5-5, 3-1) suffered a 5-2 loss to Richmond on Friday. Sophomore Dzmitry Zyhmantovich and senior Peter Ramstromer-Pello each claimed wins in singles play. At the No. 1 singles, Zyhmantovich won his eighth-straight match, posting a 2-6, 7-5, 1-0(9) victory over Ethan Dunbar. Ramstromer-Pello won his third-straight singles match. He competed at the No. 3 spot, where he defeated Alex Hahn, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.
The Hawks (11-5, 4-0) are coming off of a 5-4 win over Edinboro University on Sunday. Farid Hajizada, who is ranked No. 8 in the region, posted a 6-1, 6-4 win against No. 3 Matias Aignasse. Hajizada improved to 15-1 in singles play on the season with his victory on Sunday.
