Steve Coles posted victories in both the 200 and 400 meter races to pace the NSU men's track and field team at the Joe Hilton Invitational hosted by the University of North Carolina on Saturday.
Coles also registered personal-best marks with his two wins. He clocked a time of 21.45 seconds in the 200, and won the 400 with a time of 48.25.
NSU's other victory on Saturday came from redshirt freshman Michael Smith, who clocked a personal-best time of 15.04 seconds to win the 110 meter hurdles.
Other top finishes included
Ryan Turner's PR of 56.52 seconds in a third-place effort in the 400 hurdles, and
Da'trail Hockaday's season-best throw of 143-9 feet in a seventh-place finish in the discus.
The Spartans are back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Morgan State Legacy Meet in Baltimore, Md.
