Morgan State also saw its overall record move to 9-13, while NSU dropped to 2-18 overall and 1-6 in conference play.

Senior Angie Darcus added nine kills to lead NSU.

In the first set, NSU called timeout after falling behind by a 6-2 score. After a kill by senior Janay Frazier, the Bears began a 9-2 run that extended their lead to double digits. NSU was never less than within eight the rest of the set.

MSU jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the second, and the Bears pulled ahead by seven at 10-3 and then by eight and nine points midway through the set. A kill from junior Sydney Dailey cut the MSU lead to 17-11, but again the Bears had no problem the rest of the way.

The Spartans got going early in the third set, using a 7-2 spurt to build a 9-5 lead. Three different NSU players had service aces during that run. The Spartans still had a four point lead after a kill by senior Darcy Moore and an error on the Bears, who turned right around and scored seven straight. It marked the start of a 12-2 run that put the Spartans in a six-point hole.

NSU got to within four points twice on MSU errors before the Bears put the match away.

Browne had 11 kills on 12 swings while hitting .833. She also had three blocks as MSU outblocked the Spartans, 6-0. The Bears also held an edge in digs, 37-25, while NSU had six service aces to two for MSU.
