Box Score BALTIMORE, Md. – Braennan Farrar scored 20 of her game-high 33 points in the pivotal fourth quarter as Morgan State rallied to beat Norfolk State 67-58 in the MEAC opener for both teams on Saturday afternoon at Hill Field House.
Farrar helped the Bears (2-6, 1-0 MEAC) end their six-game losing streak by hitting 12-of-23 from the floor and 8-of-11 from the free-throw line. She was 6-of-9 from the floor as MSU outscored NSU (0-6, 0-1) 26-10 in the final period to overcome a seven-point deficit.

Siobhan Beslow tallied 14 points and 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season for the Spartans.
Trailing by 12 at halftime, the Spartans used a dominant third-quarter performance to take control of the game. NSU outscored the Lady Bears 25-6 in that period, holding MSU to 3-of-13 shooting and making 9-of-11 from the foul line. Beslow scored eight of her 14 points in the third period alone to help NSU take a 48-41 advantage into the fourth quarter.
MSU was a different team in the fourth period, however. The Lady Bears scored the first seven points of the final stanza to tie the game. A layup by Farrar put MSU into the lead for good at 56-55 with 2:51 left. NSU, meanwhile, shot just 3-of-13 (23 percent) in the final 10 minutes and made just one field goal in the final 5:38 of the game.
Farrar scored 15 of Morgan State's final 17 points of the game.
Morgan State led 17-10 after one quarter and then used a 9-0 run early in the second period to open up its largest lead of the game, at 31-12. Spartan freshman guard
Yazmen Hannah scored the final seven points of the quarter for NSU, six coming on a pair of 3-pointers, to bring NSU within 35-23 at halftime.
Hannah finished with 13 points while
Koryn Lawrence chipped in with 12 for NSU, which shot just 35 percent for the game.
Lexus Spears added 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting and added 10 rebounds for MSU. Farrar added five rebounds, five assists and three steals. The Lady Bears shot 44 percent from the floor and outrebounded the Spartans, 43-34.
NSU has a week off for first-semester exams before returning to action on Sunday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. against UNC Wilmington at Echols Hall.
