BALTIMORE, Md. – The Norfolk State women's tennis team did not drop a single game in six contested singles matches on the way to a 6-0 win over UMES on Friday afternoon at the CSU Tennis Courts at Coppin State.
The Spartans (5-10) won all six matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores. The two teams did not play doubles.
Freshman
Dajana Cvjetkovic won at the top spot in the lineup over Melequa King. Sophomore
Liza Gordeeva earned the victory over Petra Jerabkova at the second spot, while junior
Andrea Macchiavello defeated DaTonya Price at the No. 3 singles slot.
Moving down the lineup, senior
Yvonne Kamegne won at the fourth position over Reine Fowajuh. Senior
Krystal Scott downed Jasmine Jennings at the No. 5 spot, while fellow senior
Mafalda Lhorca also made it a sweep with a win over Crystal Crook at the sixth position.
UMES dropped to 0-6 on the season.
NSU will close out the trip with a match against Coppin State on Saturday at 10 a.m.
