Meet ResultsNORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's track and field team registered eight top-10 finishes this past weekend at the Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary.

The 4x200 meter relay team of
Steve Coles,
Jaylen Carr,
Allan Frye and
Michael-Thomas Brown ran a time of 1 minute, 27.64 seconds to finish as runner-up, the best finish for the Spartans at the meet. Coles and Frye also had top-10 finishes in individual events. Coles was third in the 200 meters in a personal-best time of 21.39 seconds. He also placed seventh in the 400 meters in 49.02 seconds.

Frye improved on his season-best 400 meter hurdles time for the third straight week. He crossed the finish line in 53.27 seconds, good for fourth place.

Three Spartan field athletes also cracked the top 10 in their events.
Shaw Barfield set a PR in the pole vault, clearing 13 feet, 7.25 inches to take seventh place.
Willard Ward cleared 13-1.5 to finish 10
th.

In his first meet of the outdoor season, freshman
Chris Lee took sixth place in the shot put (51-1.75).
Clifton Thompson also placed eighth in the discus (146-0).

The Spartans are back in action this weekend at the Hampton Relays.
