NORFOLK, Va.
– Dates have been set for this summer's annual basketball camps hosted by the Norfolk State men's basketball team. The Robert Jones Green and Gold Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 7-17 will take place on two separate occasions in June.

In addition, the NSU program will host a team camp, an elite camp and an exposure camp for individual players. The team camp will take place in August, while the elite and exposure camps this year are set for late June/early July.

The Green and Gold camps for youth will take place from June 18-21 and then again the following week from June 25-28. The first of those camps will also feature former NSU star and current New York Knick Kyle O'Quinn. Both camps will run from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. each day inside Joseph Echols Hall on the Norfolk State campus.

Cost of the June 18-21 camp with Kyle O'Quinn is $180. Cost of the June 25-28 camp is $160. There is also a discounted price of $300 to attend both.

Current and former Norfolk State players will provide instruction on fundamental basketball skills and overall player development while emphasizing having fun. Stations will focus on dribbling, ball-handling, shooting, rebounding and defensive techniques. There will also be contests and organized games between campers. Basic skill development will also be available.

T-shirts will be provided for each participant, although campers must provide their own lunch each day.

The team camp will take place from Aug. 10-12 and will include lectures and demonstrations from the NSU coaching staff as well as instruction on strength and conditioning. It is open to teams with players entering grades 9-12. Cost of the team camp is $350.

Cost of both the elite camp and the Green & Gold Exposure Camp is $50 each. The exposure camp is set for June 30, and the elite camp will take place on July 1. They will include daily player clinics, instruction from the NSU coaching staff, breakdowns and speed and agility drills. Players will also receive a camp T-shirt and shorts.

The exposure camp is open to players entering grades 8-12. Players entering grades 10-12 are eligible for the elite camp.
