NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State basketball program will hold its second annual tip-off weekend on Oct. 5-7 that will include its annual Tip-Off Dinner and Spartan Madness as well as a skate party.
It will all begin on Saturday, Sept. 29, when the basketball program will hold Spartan Madness inside Joseph Echols Hall following the NSU-Delaware State football game at Dick Price Stadium. The following day, Sunday, Sept. 30, the NSU Skate Party will take place in Chesapeake. To round out the week, the sixth annual Tip-Off Dinner, featuring guest speakers Seth Greenberg of ESPN and former NBA All-Star Kenny Anderson, will occur on Friday, Oct. 5 in Chesapeake as well.
Tickets for all three events can be purchased online at
www.NSUSpartansTickets.com or in person at the NSU Ticket Office between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. In addition, tickets can also be purchased through any of the basketball coaches or players.
Anderson, Greenberg and former NSU legend Pee Wee Kirkland will highlight the program's Tip-Off Dinner at the Chesapeake Conference Center beginning at 7 p.m. on Oct. 5. Greenberg is a current college basketball analyst for ESPN and the former head coach of Virginia Tech. Anderson was the No. 2 pick in the 1991 NBA Draft and an NBA All-Star in 1994.
Tickets for the dinner cost $75 per person and include dinner and access to raffle prizes. VIP tickets are also available for $100, which include an early entry for photos and autographs. The VIP ticket also includes special seating. Doors open at 5 p.m. for the event for VIP ticket holders and 6 p.m. for general admission ticket holders.
Deadline to purchase tickets is Oct. 3. Table packages are also available for $750. The Chesapeake Conference Center is located at 700 Conference Center Drive in Chesapeake. For more information on the dinner, contact assistant coach

Spartan Madness will take place on Sept. 29 beginning at 8:30 p.m. at Echols Hall, with doors open at 7. Both basketball teams will be introduced, and they will also take part in separate 3-point shooting contests. The Norfolk State men will engage in a crowd favorite, the dunk contest.
Each team will compete in an intrasquad scrimmage for a first glimpse of their 2018-19 squads. One fan will also get the chance to win $20,000 in a contest. Tickets for Spartans Madness are $5. For more information about Spartan Madness, contact assistant coach

The NSU Skate Party will be held on Sept. 30 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Greenbrier Family Skating Center. Fans will have the chance to meet both teams while enjoying some music and food in a fun atmosphere. Tickets are $10. The skating center is located at 1409 Stephanie Way in Chesapeake, across the street from the Greenbrier Mall.
