NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State redshirt senior guard
Chanette Hicks was named the MEAC Player of the Week, her sixth time earning the award this season. She was also named the MEAC Defensive Player of the Week for the sixth time.
Hicks went off for 30 points on 11-for-23 shooting against Howard on Saturday afternoon. She also finished with nine steals, seven assists, five rebounds and two blocks. It was her third 30-point game this season and the fifth time she's had a game with at least six steals.
Hicks remains second nationally in steals, averaging 5.4 steals per game. She now ranks sixth in the nation in scoring, now averaging 22.8 points per game after last game's 30 point outburst.
The Spartans continue MEAC play with Maryland Eastern Shore at Echols Hall on Saturday at 4 p.m.
