Tickets Available for Va. Sports Hall of Fame Weekend Featuring Tracy Saunders

NORFOLK, Va. – Tickets remain available for the 49th annual Virginia Sports Hall of Fame induction weekend, which includes former Norfolk State women's basketball All-American Tracy Saunders, April 24-25 in Virginia Beach.

The weekend includes several opportunities to meet and mingle with Saunders and other class of 2020 inductees. The remainder of the class includes broadcasters Dennis Carter and Bruce Rader, former MLB player, coach and executive Mike Cubbage, track and field Olympian Lawrence Johnson, former NFL receiver Al Toon and former MLB all-star David Wright.

Saunders starred for the Spartans from 1987-91. A three-time All-CIAA selection, Saunders remains the third all-time leading scorer in school history, with 2,084 points, and is fourth in rebounds, with 978. NSU went 95-25 in her four years, including a berth in the 1991 NCAA Division II Final Four. NSU won a school-record 33 games that season and Saunders was named the national Player of the Year. She also won the 1991 Honda Award as the top female athlete in all of Division II.

Friday April 24th, VIP Celebrity Reception, Westin Hotel, 7 p.m.  Saturday April 25th, Breakfast With Champions, Westin Hotel, 9 a.m. 
  • This is an all-ages event will feature the Class of 2020; Q/A session, meet/greet, and autographs
  • Tickets - $15.00 each, includes breakfast buffet provided by the Westin, and autograph sheets provided by the Hall of Fame. Outside items are permitted (no more than 2 per person)
