NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State bowling team recorded a pair of wins over the weekend at the Coppin State Lady Eagles Invitational in Baltimore, Maryland.
Senior
Crystal Brewer led the Spartans in the traditional games on Saturday. She knocked down 892 pins in the five games, or 178.4 per game, with a high of 213 in the team's 849-838 win over the host Eagles.
Chanel Staton added a 181 and
Trinity Gray knocked down 172 in the same game.
Staton averaged 173.4, second-best on the team, on Saturday. She had a 201 game against Bloomfield.
NSU also dropped games to Howard, Bloomfield, Chestnut Hill and Kutztown on Saturday to finish the day 1-4.
The Spartans also went 1-4 in Sunday's baker total pinfall matches, with a win over Virginia State and losses to Wagner, Caldwell, Morgan State and Bloomfield.
The Spartans are off until well after the semester break – Feb. 19-20, 2022 to be exact – when they host the second MEAC conference weekend of the year in Virginia Beach.
