Entirety of MEAC Tournament Will Also Air Live on ESPN Networks

NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's basketball team will be featured twice during the MEAC's yearly ESPN regular-season TV schedule as announced by the conference on Monday.

The Spartans' home contest with Morgan State on Jan. 24 at Echols Hall and a road contest at North Carolina Central on Jan. 31 will both be broadcast live on ESPNU. The two games comprise half of the league's regular-season TV schedule on the network.

The Jan. 24 game will tip off at 7 p.m. at Echols Hall and features a rematch of last year's MEAC tournament championship game, won by the Spartans, 71-63. The Jan. 31 matchup at NCCU will begin at 9 p.m. The Spartans eliminated the Eagles from the MEAC quarterfinal round last year 87-58, in their last meeting.

NSU (first), Morgan State (second) and N.C. Central (third) were voted the top three teams in the MEAC preseason poll prior to the season.

The MEAC also announced Monday that the entirety of the men's and women's basketball tournaments in March will air on the ESPN family of networks, with exact channel designations to be announced at a later date.

As a result of the NSU-Morgan State men's game being played at 7 p.m., the women's game between those teams will be moved up to a 4 p.m. start time on Jan. 24.
