NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State University men's basketball team returns to Joseph G. Echols Memorial Hall for its third game in five days, welcoming the Dragons of Virginia University of Lynchburg on Tuesday night.

The Spartans enter the matchup after a hard-fought road contest at Wyoming, where NSU trimmed a 24-point deficit to single digits before ultimately falling 75-67 in Laramie.
Anthony McComb III and
Elijah Jamison paced the Spartans with 19 points each, while McComb also led the team with six rebounds.

The Spartans (3-4) went 1-1 last week, highlighted by a thrilling 62-60 win over Hampton in the 143rd Battle of the Bay before making the quick turnaround to Wyoming. NSU battled throughout, surging late before narrowly falling to the Cowboys.
Jamison totaled 37 points across the two contests (18.5 ppg), while McComb added 32.
Dian Wright-Forde provided a strong spark off the bench at Wyoming, finishing with 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting and a 5-of-7 mark at the free throw line.
NSU is also expected to regain a key contributor this week in redshirt freshman
My'kel Jenkins, who averages 9.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game.

VUL enters Tuesday's matchup at 0-8 following four losses last week to Winston-Salem State (94-77), USC Aiken (132-50), Johnson C. Smith (119-75), and Livingstone (107-73).
Derek Todd Jr. scored 20 points against WSSU, while Filaun Paythress added 15. Smith and Creedland each led the Dragons in separate contests with 13 and 16 points, respectively.
Tuesday's matchup marks the Dragons' fifth game this season against a Division I opponent. VUL has previously faced Coastal Carolina (121-44), Tennessee Tech (116-58), VMI (106-54), and Alabama State (124-68), with additional D-I matchups on the horizon at Western Carolina, Appalachian State, and Campbell.
