NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State sophomore forward
Mahoganie Williams was named Tuesday as the MEAC's Defensive Player of the Week.
Williams was a force on defense in NSU's two games with Hampton and George Mason. Against the Pirates, Williams blocked four shots and added eight points and four rebounds.
In Monday's win at George Mason, Williams swatted a season-high six shots, the most by a MEAC play this year, and tied her season high with 10 rebounds, nine on the defensive end of the floor. Williams also scored 18 points at GMU, notching her second double-double of the season.
The Spartans (3-5) look to keep their momentum going this Sunday with a 2 p.m. game at Old Dominion.
