Brewer Named 3rd-Team All-MEAC

| By:
NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State junior bowler Crystal Brewer was honored by the league on Tuesday when she was named third-team All-MEAC for the 2020-21 season.

The Chicago native becomes the first all-conference bowler for NSU since a pair of Spartans were voted to the All-MEAC team in 2017-18. Brewer bowled in all 12 traditional games this year as well as every Baker game, averaging 181.8 in traditional play.

Prior to this past weekend's tournament, Brewer had averaged 18.8 pins per frame in both traditional and Baker play. She had converted 71 percent of her spares while striking 35 percent of the time. She had an overall fill percentage (strikes and spares) of 81 percent. In traditional play, she rolled a season-high 223 during the North Carolina A&T dual meet in late February.

Cameron Strombeck of North Carolina A&T was voted the MEAC Bowler of the Year. Her head coach Kim Terrell-Kearney was voted the MEAC Coach of the Year, while Delaware State's Alyssa Breidegam took home the Rookie of the Year award.

NSU closed out its season this past weekend at A&T's Stallings Invitational.
