NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State softball program will host a four-day summer camp for younger players as well as a college prospect camp this summer at the NSU Softball Field.
The Norfolk State Softball Camp will take place from June 28-July 1 and is open to players ages 6-13. The College Softball Prospect ID Showcase will take place on July 27.
Cost of the Norfolk State Softball Camp is $200 per player. There is also a $25 discount for teams of 10 or more. Contact head coach

the PDF form and return it with payment to the address shown. Full payment is due by June 28. A $25 late fee will be charged after the start of the camp. All campers must sign the waiver form located
on the PDF form on the NSU website.
The camp will include drill instruction taught by NSU players and coaches, covering offense, defense, pitching, catching, teamwork and mental aspects of softball. There will also be team-building exercises and a theme for each day. A certified athletic trainer will also be on site.
The morning session will run from 9-11:30 a.m., and the afternoon session will run from 12:30-3 p.m. with an hour break for lunch in between. Snacks will be provided, but campers must bring their own lunch as well as softball equipment, including glove, helmet, cleats, pants and a water bottle.
The College Softball Prospect ID Showcase camp will include coaches from NSU, North Carolina State, Radford, Virginia Tech, Charlotte, and Coker College and will feature sessions for pitchers, catchers, outfielders and hitters.
The camp will include instruction from coaches, discussions about NCAA rules and regulations, as well as position specific training and small group instruction. The pitching and catching session will run from 8-11 a.m., the defense session will take place from 12-2 p.m., and the offense session will run from 2-5 p.m. There will also be a discussion on the recruiting process from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Players in the defense session will be grouped by similar age.
Cost of the prospect camp is $179 for the pitching and catching session, $279 for position players (afternoon sessions), or $329 for two-way players and all-day catchers (all sessions). There is no option to sign up as a utility player to take part in both infield and outfield defense.
