NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk State forward
Kierra Wheeler has been named MEAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

The recognition comes after a dominant conclusion to the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic, in which she was named MVP of the event after leading Norfolk State to three victories in three days. She also boosted Norfolk State to a home win over Campbell on Monday evening.

Wheeler averaged 14.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per contest this week, shooting a combined 19-for-28 (67.9 percent) from the floor. Despite battling foul trouble, she recorded 15 points and 10 rebounds against Campbell in just 23 minutes of action.

Receiving the accolade in the opening week of the season, Wheeler now has earned MEAC Player of the Week on two occasions.
