NORFOLK, Va. – After starting off the season with a 3-2 record at home in the NSU-Hampton Classic, the Norfolk State softball team stays in the Tidewater area but travels to Hampton for the HU Classic this weekend.

The Spartans will face off against the same teams on Saturday that they do on Sunday. NSU starts off with a 9 a.m. contest against St. Bonaventure before playing Central Connecticut State at 1 p.m. at the Hampton Softball Complex. On Sunday will play the Bonnies and Blue Devils at the same times as Saturday, respectively.

NSU is 1-1 all-time against SBU and are 0-7 against CCSU.

  • The Bonnies open their 2022 season this weekend against NSU and will play a pair of games against the Spartans and host Lady Pirates.
  • Last season SBU went 2-26 and 2-22 in the A10. Their two wins came in a four-game series with Dayton.
  • The Blue Devils also open their 2022 season at the HU Classic. CCSU opens with a double-header against Hampton on Friday afternoon before playing the Spartans and Lady Pirates on Saturday afternoon. The wrap up the weekend with a single game against NSU on Sunday.
