NSU Games on April 15, April 29 to be Broadcast Live

NORFOLK, Va. – For the second straight year, Norfolk State University will host a pair of ESPNU televised games featuring its softball and baseball programs this spring, the MEAC announced Monday.

The Spartan softball team's 11 a.m. game against North Carolina Central on Friday, April, 15, will air live on ESPNU. That is the first game of that day's doubleheader, which was moved up two hours to accommodate the telecast. That matchup kicks off a three-game series between the teams that weekend.

This marks the fourth time NSU softball will host an ESPNU game in its history, and second year in a row. The Spartans beat Howard 9-5 on a walk-off grand slam by Gabby Vaughan in last year's TV appearance.

The NSU baseball team will also be showcased nationally when it hosts Delaware State for a 3 p.m. ESPNU telecast on Friday, April 29 at Marty L. Miller Field. That is the opener of a four-game series between the Spartans and Hornets.

In its first-ever home TV game last year, NSU defeated Florida A&M 9-1.

ESPNU is available in more than 50 million homes in the United States. All games aired on an ESPN network will also be available through the ESPN App on computers, smartphones, tablets and streaming devices to fans who receive their high-speed Internet connection or video subscription from an affiliated service provider.
