NORFOLK, Va. - The Norfolk State University basketball teams had historic regular seasons that they will attempt to carry over into the 2022 MEAC Tournament next week at the Norfolk Scope.

The Spartan men's team won the MEAC regular-season title with a 12-2 MEAC mark and 21-6 overall record. NSU will be the No. 1 overall seed and face No. 8 Delaware State at 6 p.m. next Wednesday (March 9) in the quarterfinals at Scope Arena.

The NSU women's team earned a thrilling season-ending win over Howard to finish in a three-way tie atop the standings with the Bison and Morgan State. All three teams posted 11-3 MEAC records. This marks the first time in school history the Spartan women have earned a share of the MEAC regular-season title. After tie-breaking procedures, NSU will be the No. 2 seed in the tournament and face No. 7 North Carolina Central at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9 at Scope Arena.

NSU has sold out of its allotment of tickets to the tournament, but tickets remain available for purchase through the Scope box office and Ticketmaster.com.
