PHILADELPHIA, Pa. and CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Isaac Haywood won the college men's triple jump and both Norfolk State's 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams advanced to the Championship of America finals for the Spartans over the weekend at the Penn Relays.
Haywood topped the field with best jump of 48 feet, 11 inches to win the triple jump at the oldest track meet in the United States, which was being held for the first time since 2019.

Dazon Harrison and
Camren Wynder-Hill had the fifth-best qualifying time in Friday's prelims. The quartet ran a time of 3:09.92, the best for NSU and tops in the MEAC this year. The team did not compete in Saturday's final.
The 4x100 team of
Anthony Franklin,
Kai Cole,
Savien Hayes and
Bryan-Madison Ahouman posted a time of 40.42 seconds in Friday's prelims. The group did not finish its race on Saturday.
No other HBCU had two teams qualify for the Championship of America relay finals this year.
The Spartans also sent a contingent of athletes to compete at the Virginia Grand Prix on Sunday, the team's last tuneup before the MEAC Outdoor Championship.
Rodric Cox-Cooper II had the highest finish by a Spartan, placing second in the long jump with a mark of 23-2.75. He was also fourth in the triple jump with a best effort of 46-5.25.
Nile Walker also was top-five in the triple jump, placing fifth with a mark of 44-3.25.
Joshua Sutton PRed in the 110 hurdles (14.69) in a third-place finish and took sixth in the high jump with a clearance of 6-5.
Next up for the Spartans is the MEAC Outdoor Championships, which run May 12-14 at Dick Price Stadium.
