NORFOLK, Va. – The Norfolk State men's tennis team wrapped up its second competition of the fall last weekend in North Carolina at the Elon Invitational.
Federico Rebecchini and Boris Lunin made a run as a doubles pairing, while
Ibrahim Abbas earned a victory at singles.
Â
Rebecchini and Lennon got off to a strong start in the Phoenix Doubles Draw, defeating Charlotte's Lance Cochran and Aditya Narayanan 6-3. Narayan, a freshman, was a five-star recruit coming out of high school.
Â
The Spartan duo continued its hot streak, Longwood's Yoav Weinberg and Luis Reis 7-5, advancing to the division's championship match. The run came to an end there, falling 6-4 against a pair of UNC Greensboro players.
Â
Norfolk State wouldn't go winless against UNCG, though. Abbas notched a singles triumph against Harrison Gwynn on Friday, his first solo win of the fall season.
