VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. | The Norfolk State University men's indoor track and field teams were in action on Friday at the 60
th Annual East Coast Invitational as the Spartans dominated the three-team field at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.

Norfolk State won the meet with 231 points, while Maryland Eastern Shore placed second with 98 points. Voorhees College rounded out the field with 23 points.

Anthony Franklin won the 60m dash, edging
Carlson White for the top spot. He finished in 6.83, which was a facility record, while White clocked a time of 6.87.
Dwight Henry claimed fifth in 7.00 and
Devin Mosley rounded out the event in seventh at 7.08.

Henry,
Jonathan Richardson,
Joshua Sutton and
Antaeveon Payne all broke the facility record (8.40) in the 60m hurdles. Henry won the event in 8.14, while Richardson finished in 8.20. Sutton and Payne both crossed in 8.35.

Regan Kimtai won the 1 mile, logging a time of 4:26.83, while Victor Jumo took second place, with a time of 4:35.46.

In the 400m,
Dazon Harrison clocked a time of 49.01 to claim third, while
Jeremiah Zellander placed fourth in 49.41.
Knasir Alston finished eight, with a time of 51.11.

Jumo placed second in the 800m, logging a time of 2:05.79.

In the 200m,
Kai Cole, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week, blazed his way to the facility record by .02 of a second as he won the event in 21.44. Franklin finished second in 21.66 and
Jeremiah Zellander was fifth in 21.84. White (22.01),
Dazon Harrison (22.14) and Bryan Madison-Ahouman placed seventh through ninth.

The 4x400m relay team of Alston,
Jahquan Christopher, Cole and Harrison won the event in 3:29.59, closing out the track events.

In the weight throw,
Raeshon Smith and
Rayquan Smith finished second and third, respectively, with tosses of 13.75m and 13.46m.

Richardson won the long jump, with a leap of 6.90m, while Rodric Cox-Cooper jumped 6.79m to claim second.
Sadiq Nurse (6.43) and
Nile Walker (6.32) finished fourth and sixth.

In the shot put,
Rayquan Smith and
Raeshon Smith went second and third, with tosses of 13.76m and 12.82m. Garrison Wheatley placed fourth at 12.78m and
Troy McWilliams finished fifth at 12.31m.

Cox-Cooper and Walker were second and fourth, respectively, in the triple jump. Cox-Cooper jumped 13.99m, while Walker was 13.00m.

Kalon Jeffery won the pole vault with a distance of 4.09m, while Sutton captured the top spot in the high jump at 1.95m. Christopher (1.85m) and Nurse (1.70m) finished second and fifth.

Norfolk State wraps up its two week stretch in Virginia Beach next weekend as the Spartans host the
Kenneth Giles Invitational, starting with competition beginning on Friday and concluding with events on Saturday.
